I love cemeteries. There’s an old cemetery I used to go to as a kid, that starts out being clean and manicured, but then sprawls up into the hills, all old and mangled and much more alive. My brother and I would hike up there and have picnics among the tomb stones. It seems irreverent, I guess, but I think graves like to have people near them. There were so many old ones that obviously never got visited, and I think it’s much more respectful to go out of your way to spend some time there and enjoy the beautiful place where they’re buried and just think about them a bit, even if you never knew them and they died long before you were born, instead of just leaving them there to never be thought of and never visited. Graves are meant to be visited.
Yeah, I’m rambling.
There are cemeteries I pass all the time but I never go to, even though I keep meaning to… it’s time to visit them.
