12. O'Dells Brewery  — 10 months ago

You’d think after living here as long as I have, that I would have visited this place. lol (especially since I love beer!)

They were celebrating something – not sure if I ever heard what it was. There are several tables inside and a small patio outside. I decided on tasting one of their sampler “platters” and yum yum they were tasty. They were having some drawings for prizes and much to my surprise my number was drawn. I now have a gift certificate to the Backcountry Provisions restaurant and also got a “growler” of beer. NICE!

It was alot of fun and definitely will be a place to come back and enjoy.

11. Suzette's - Southern Cooking  — 11 months ago

Located in the downtown area of Old Town, this tiny little place is full of down-home cookin. Inside are barely a dozen tables and the atmosphere was quiet and comfy. They had a great menu full of southern favorites. We decided to go for their full courses meal for one set price. We chose an entree, had a first course of candied pears with cottage cheese and fried green tomatoes with a tomato chutney sauce. The second course brought out with the entree was collard greens, creamed corn and mashed potatoes with gravy. It was all really delicious, although the blackened catfish I personally wouldn’t order again. We finished the meal with a couple small scoops of vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce and some chickory coffee. MMMMmmmm

All in all, I would recommend trying out this great little restaurant. Next time we go I will see what they can do with chicken!

10. Trial Gardens by old Fort Collins High School  — 1 year ago

I have no idea if this place has a name, but you can’t miss it. Just across from CSU there is a huge flower garden area with a mass of pots strewn in orderly rows with every color imaginable. Some are planted in the ground and others sit happily in big thick pots in rows. There are some benches to sit on to enjoy the colors and scents. The bike path runs nearby so you could stop and have a quick rest.

This is a great place to go if you wanted to have a picnic. Lots of grass and huge trees for shade. Wish I would have taken a picture while I was there. Maybe I’ll go back and take some before the end of summer claims all that beauty.

9. The Swing Station  — 1 year ago

Even though this place is technically in Laporte, it is close enough to count. This little bar used to be the Drinkin Dawg and (from what I’ve heard) has brought itself out of the gutter. This place was great, even on a Monday. My good friend introduced me to many of the regulars there and they were all really nice people. The bartender made a mean margarita too.

The bands that play on the weekends look like they’d be fun to watch. I will definitely be returning to see what a friday night holds.

8. The Gardens on Spring Creek  — 1 year ago

We took the family to this beautiful garden this weekend. The landscaping is nice and the garden areas are continually being cared for and changed. The girls had fun with the large watering can water feature. It was free to walk around and enjoy.

Check it out here…..

7. Road 34 Bar  — 1 year ago

This “bike” bar is located in the Campus West ~ Elizabeth area just east of the Sonic restaurant. Since Monday is my only night off, I decided to go with a couple of friends and check it out. The bar is shared with the Road 34 bike shop and has a lot of space to mingle. There are a couple of pool tables, a large bar area, and some couches nestled in with the chairs and tables. Although not busy on a Monday, I’d love to come back on a Friday and see what this bar holds.

I’ll definitely go back for more!

6. Pitcher's Sport Restaurant  — 1 year ago

Thought it would be fun to go here and play some pool. I went with a co-worker who told me you could play pool for free. I thought, what could be better than that?

Went around 5pm and the bar area was filled with the blue-collar working crowd. Mostly populated with the male species and the pool tables were empty. I ordered a wheat brew made by Pitcher’s and it wasn’t half bad. Also had an order of curly fries which were served up hot and seasoned. I enjoyed going there and plan on going again.

5. Poppy's Joint  — 1 year ago

This place was great from the moment we arrived! They had some great happy hour specials and a small patio out front. They are on Mason Street just around the corner from the Rio. The waitress was full of energy and all smiles and funny and the service was excellent. We ate the half price appetizers and had the $2 well cocktails. Food was really really good and the gin and tonics were tasty too. I plan on coming back to sample their entrees in the future.

4. Dempsey's  — 1 year ago

This Fort Collins restaurant is located on Oak Street near downtown. We went there for an appetizer and a beer to enjoy the setting sun on their patio. The only thing I liked about this place was the patio (and the beer of course). The appetizer we had was plain and the tomatoes were not ripe. Our waitress was not all that friendly and didn’t make me feel like I wanted to come back.

Here’s a look at what they offer
