One month ago!

After all the cold bitter days of winter that we’ve been having, my daughter hasn’t had a chance to be outside. We finally had a nice day and she wanted to take her bike out. Since I was busy watching the 3 yr old, she was on her own with riding. She practiced back and forth for an hour and by the end, she was successfully riding her bike! WOOT

Might have to wait....

unless I can get my Big Miss outside before the weather changes to cold all the time. She hasn’t had the interest to get on her bike, so I’m trying not to push the subject too much. I need to get her out there and show her she can do it!

Hopefully we’ll have some time after school that we can work together and get her some confidence!

Yow!

Can you say ouch? I knew it was inevitable, but having the pedals slam into your shin is never a fun experience. I had her riding out on the street today practicing moving on the bike and pedaling. She was actually doing better than she ever has and then the ole pedal syndrome sneaked up. She did really well I must admit, and took it in stride.

It’s nice to see this kind of improvement in only 2 short days. Thanks for the good ideas Stryker777!!

I've got an 8 year old too

and she has had a really hard time learning to ride a bike. I think it’s the fear factor of falling that is hindering her progress. She did great with training wheels, but without them, she is lost.

My 2 1/2 year old just got her first real bike with training wheels. It works much better than her tricycle! I’m thinking she will have no fear. :oP

I’m hoping to find some new ways to teach my oldest girl to not be afraid and help get her some balance so she can feel like she is doing better…..
