I like PBJ sandwiches. I eat a lot of them. It seems I am always hungry lately, and there is never enough to eat. So we end up having lots of sandwiches. This is making me more grateful for the meat that we never get! haha…it sounds weird, but I would love a big steak right now, or BBQ chicken breasts. It is 7 am too.

I am more grateful and thankful than ever today. We have a new baby in the family!
My cousin Ash just had a healthy baby boy, after she had three miscarriages previously. Her brother also died last November, while she was 3 months along, so it was devastating to everyone. We were all hoping that this baby would make full term, since it was the one she was pregnant with when her brother passed. She named the baby after her brother; his name is Hunter Wyatt and he is chubby and very healthy!
An emotional day for everyone, especially the new grandma. Memories of her own son are clearly present today, but everyone knows that Wyatt is here in spirit.
A very good day indeed!
I am grateful for the sunny day and the blue sky. It was so beautiful today, and we just had snow a few days ago! So strange. But that snow made today even more special.
I am also grateful for the friendly grocery store cashier. He was funny and chatty, which doesn’t happen very often. People in this town can be grumpy.
I am also grateful for the personal banker at our bank, who looks just like John Mayer! He gave my husband and I lots to laugh about after our appointment. He even has the weird dark undereye circles like John does.
I am grateful for pens and paper. I’ve made a lot of lists lately, and they are coming in very handy. My favorite are the cheap Bic pens in blue. They have the perfect amount of ink and are the perfect blue color!
I am very grateful for the laundromat: I get fluffy towels, smooth sheets, and white socks.
I am grateful for Choco Taco. Does anyone know what these are? They are basically a waffle cone shaped into a taco “shell,” coated with chocolate and filled with ice cream. When you eat it the shell gets all soft and it’s gooey with chocolate and melty ice cream. Yum!
I am also grateful for the many Mother’s Day card options out there. I found the perfect one today that expresses exactly how I feel!
Yesterday was a hard day for me to be grateful. We packed up our porch and made boxes for Goodwill, stuff to save, and stuff to throw. But we were both in grouchy moods and we bickered a lot.
So I’m trying hard to find something to be happy about. What did I appreciate? Well, I appreciated my mom’s email telling me I was her sunshine, her only sunshine… (it was raining at her house). And I was grateful for the yummy veggies on my pizza because they were just yummy. And healthy, too, I guess.
But that is IT. I refuse to be happy about my grouchiness.
Hmph.
I am grateful for my husband’s 401(k).
I am grateful for strawberry-scented shampoo.
I am grateful for my beta fish, who makes me smile.
I am grateful for my brother because he adores me :)
I am grateful for a car that runs well.
Today we went on an Earth Day walk. The two of us walked down to the park by the lake and took silly pictures with nature. I even kissed a tree. We spent two hours just walking around town, inspecting pine cones, and playing on the teeter-totter. Who knew a couple of twenty-somethings could still enjoy the park? It was a very refreshing day.
I am also grateful for my contacts. I put in a fresh pair and they allowed me to see the beauty of nature.
Life gets depressing sometimes. I need to stop complaining about the bad things and start focusing on all the good things in my world.
Today hubby and I took a walk in the beautiful 75-degree weather. The sun on our faces felt good, the lake was shimmering, and we stood and watched the baby ducks for a good twenty minutes. His hand felt good in mine. I felt healthy and happy in the sunshine.
Oddly, I am also grateful for the exact opposite weather right now! The sunny day has turned into a stormy, rainy night. The thunder is moody and I like being cozy in my little apartment while cars drive by on the wet street.
Also Conan O’Brien is on right now.
