I was walking from subway where I usually et the sub of the day. With tax it is 2 dollars 64 cents. From there I go to the little store on the corner and pick up a small bag of chips, and a green iced tea.
The Art and Cultural Center is across the street from all of this. The City has trash cans attached to almost every other light pole.
I was about to follow two young people that were in the store lying about buying splif papers for their father until I saw an older man digging in the trash.
I stopped and pulled out my wallet and counted out three bucks. I approached te man and told him he could go get a turkey and ham sandwich at subway for 2.65 and handed him the money.
The man all ready had a couple of beers in his bag, and I knew he was hungry because he was digging in the trash.
He thanked me again, and again. I said, “Peace be with you, God Bless you.” As I walked away the man kept on saying thank you over and over again.
I had goose bumps.
Please, help a stranger today, and everyday.
It feels great!
