I think rain water tanks should be compulsory for every building. Especially in urban areas and even more particularly commercial buildings. with large car parks. The size of the tanks should relate to roof area and/or the property size.
Its been raining in adelaide for 4 days (after a very long dry spell) and all the water is just rushing out to sea. The city councils shouldn’t increase storm water drains but increase the number of tanks and therfore the collection of water when it rains. That will reduce the flooding near glenleg and gawler.
The water can’t get into the ground because we’ve covered it all in concrete and bitumen, so even though we desparately need water it is just flowing out to sea.
Any suggestions?
