visit my grandmum at least one a month

(...although I have not been writing about the visits to my grandmum)

Now it is time to increase the frequence and visit my grandmum consequently every 3 weeks. I have written down the dates in my agenda untill the end of the year because that is the best way for me to do this: just plan it in already. In two weeks my grandmum will be ninety so I will have to start thinking about a gift… Ideas?

I visisted my grandmum and when I was giving her a manicure my grandmum told me that she got a compliment on her nails from her pedicurist. When my grandmum told her this was done by her granddaughter – me! – she asked if I was a professional. This made my grandmum really proud :-)

I visited my grandmum and gave her a Valentine’s gift!!!
A corny coffee mug with all kinds of hearts saying “To My Valentine” I liked it a lot and she did as well. The mug was filled with candy and it all looked very festive! :-)
We had some laughs with a scene from the jurrasic park 3 movie that was on tv and then we sat down to talk ( I also showed her the valentine’s gift that I have bought for myself! An orange lamp) then I gave her a manicure. We talked and laughed a lot. It did me so good to be together, she really makes me happy.

we went to our favorite fish restaurant, just the two of us this time. She ordered plaice and I ate “tomate crevette”. I also gave her Tim’s gift : the angels and demons book.

I gave her the Da Vinci Code book and 2 subitos. She won 2,5 euro! I also did her nails – she really likes that. I just called her to wish her a happy new year and she told me she loved the book and could not stop reading. I hear there is a second book… :-)

But there was so much snow!!! I called her and I told her will come next Saturday. I have such nice gifts ready…

shame on me…can not happen again!
15th of November: I drove to the coast (heavy rain!). I gave my grandmum lots of hugs and the wild animal calender my boyfriend bought for her (he is such a sweet pie)
In the beginning she seemed slightly sad (maybe because it was such a long time ago)but I managed to cheer her up with my stories about pretty sweet boys in Jordan. :-) She loved that!
I also brought her the magazine that interviewed me about gender equality in the EU elections. She liked that, she looked interested and proud!
I also did her nails.
Next date is already in my agenda: 20 December, when I am back from my work in Nijmegen.

We went to the seaside and had lunch in aux vieux port. It was fancy, we had a nice table at the window, but the sole is MUCH better in the non fancy place (that’ s a bit more expensive but no nonsens and goooood fish – not frozen bah)
I think we will stick to our old restauant, or maybe try something further from the seaside. I really hate it when fish is not fresh and has been frozen before. I taste the difference instantly.
I should call my grandmum soon because she forgot her jacket in my car…

We went to the seaside and took a walk, then we started looking for a suitable restaurant, but we ended up in the same one as last time! My grandmum ordered a plaice and she was delighted. She said it was the best one she tasted in a long time (she used to run a mobile fish store together with my grandfather, so she sure knows a good plaice)

We have already chosen the restaurant for our next date. It is called “Au vieux port” and it was packed so we could not eat there this weekend.

When we left my grandmum at her house and kissed her goodbye my boyfriend called her “memeke” (like I call her) for the very first time (I asked him to do that, he was hesitant at first). It proved a great succes, she flushed deeply and chuckled :-) Supercute!

23 may: I visited my grandmum I gave her the Hollywood magnet I bought for her in LA for on her fridge! :-)
