I love reading more every day.

I am reading conventional books, my kindle, and listening to audio books constantly. Since we got rid of the TV, I have a lot more time to do read or listen to books. I am making a wish list from the recommendations from Library Thing. It makes it easy to add the books to my wish list, print it out and then take it to the library.

reading all the time

I am reading all of the time. I am going to have to make a list of books I have read so far this year to get an actual count. I think I am reading about two books a week, but until I make a list I really won’t be sure. I will have to see how many books I have actually read before I can call this goal done.

Reading with my Mothers Day Present.

I told both of my children a couple years ago that I do not need anymore stuff. My girls understand that I have a problem with clutter and I have never gotten rid of a gift. (I have always gotten great gifts). My youngest daughter, Sam, bought me a Kindle for Mothers Day. She said that now I could get as many books as I want without causing more clutter in the house. I love it. I finally can get a daily newspaper without ending up with piles of papers around the house and books without having to start another stack on the floor. I have hardly put the thing down since I received it. I have read a lot since getting my new glasses, and now I will be reading even more.

Listening to books on CD

Does listening to books on CDS count as reading? Well, I am going to count it. I can listen while I am at work or while I am out doing yard work. I still like to sit down with a conventional book and read, but I also enjoy audio books.

Reading made easier

The Library offers an online service for requesting books, and I can also renew online. Since I got myself some new reading glasses, I am finding great joy in reading again. Last year it became so hard to read all of a sudden. I did not realize that I needed reading glasses until my regular yearly eye appointment. I went and got myself the progressive lens eye glasses that have three different vision levels. Well, reading became instantly easier. I have read more in the last three months than I did all last year. Between the weekly trips to the library and the new glasses, I will make my goal of reading 100 books before the end of the year.

Already well on my way

Since I am visiting the library more, I have already read more books than I did at the same time last year. I have joined Librarything.com and have started keeping track of what books I have read. The advantage of Librarything is the recommendations by other members on what to read. I like to do a random pick off of the library shelves, but I also like to have a couple of books in mind when I get there.
