My granddaughter and I took the dog for a long walk on Saturday. We don’t seem to get enough time for exercising and enjoying the great out doors. We walked a couple miles to a favorite park and bought a small cone for each of us. We were happy to meet up with a couple of nice children from my Granddaughters school. They ran around and played while I sat and read and the dog rested. It was a great first walk of the “nice weather” season. We have my granddaughters 1st Communion today. Mass and ceremony at 1:00 and then off to my parents house for a little party. I hope the sun comes out. It was supposed to be nice and sunny today.

I had a great and busy weekend. Saturday was the usual laundry, dog, violin, and gym with my GD. We went to the craft store and I purchased a few things. Saturday night was the joint birthday party for my niece and her husband. I went to the bar and had a couple of green beers and some hot wings. I watched the Blackhawks win 8-1. Sunday was church, gym, grocery shopping, late lunch with a friend and his wife. My GD used all her best manners and made me very proud of her behavior. We had St Joseph Day dinner at church. It was a pot luck. We then went over to my mother and fathers and had birthday cake and icecream for my eldest daughter. It was a very busy but happy weekend.
We are having a fun weekend so far. I have to work this evening, but we are fitting some fun and chores into the weekend. Yesterday after piano lessons, we had to go to pick up the girlscout cookies for the troop. My daughter is a leader, and it is cookie time once again. We went with my van and her car to pick them all up. There was a mix up on the delivery and we got all of cookies except for 26 cases of samoas and 7 cases of do si dos. We had to go back later in the evening and pick them up off of the semi truck in Meijers parking lot. Meijers was nice enough to let the girlscouts use part of their lot. I now have almost 200 cases of girlscout cookies in my kitchen stacked up. We will be sorting them out tonight and delivering them to the moms over the next two days. My GD and I went sledding when her mother went to work. We came home and watched James and Giant Peach with hot chocolate and popcorn. I think they could have done a better job with story. I loved that book. We are hoping to slip in some more sledding before church and then my GD will come to work with me so her Mom can pick her up there. I like a weekend where we laugh a lot.
I was supposed to have several hours for myself on Saturday as my daughter was working and a mother was supposed to pick up my granddaughter and take her to a spa birthday party. We waited for the mother who didn’t show up and then I just ran my GD to the party myself. It was really too far to just drop her off and go back and pick her up; so I ended up staying in the area window shopping. I went back towards the end of the party so I could be there for the singing and present opening. That put such a big hole in the middle of my day that I did not get many of the things done I had planned. My GD and I did make the cement stepping stones with her handprint for her mother’s Valentine’s present. My GD was so excited and proud. I would like to make some of the plaster of paris hand prints to keep for myself. I should have done them when she was younger. We went out to the Family Fun Center and spent some time together on Saturday night. Church on Sunday and then we took the dog for a second walk. My GD came to work with me so her mother could pick her up on the way home. I didn’t get to the gym at all over the weekend, but I was very tired. I need a couple of hours uninterrupted; so I can get things done around the house.
We (my granddaughter and I) did a bunch of errands before going to work on Saturday. GD talked me into stopping at Hobby Lobby before dropping her off at my parents house on my way to work. We are planning on making clothes for her American Girl Doll. I have been pricing patterns and they run about $16.95 for each pattern package for the 18” dolls. I warned her that we would only be able to buy one since they were so expensive. I couldn’t believe our luck-they were on sale for .99 each. I have never been one to stumble on the good sales, and this was better than good it was fantasic. I was able to buy 4 pattern packages for $4.00 and saved $63.80. I can’t wait to sit down and sew the clothes with my GD. She also wants a matching outfit. I will have to shop for a patter that is similar for her size and match the material. Good luck for us this weekend. We also went to a birthday party for a friends GD. We had a good time visiting and laughing. These people do a lot of traveling and activities. Its nice to here all their stories. We had a good weekend, but I will have to play catchup with the housework and laundry as we didn’t really do any this weekend.
I am working both Saturday and Sundays. My boss said this will continue for another two weeks. Its hard to do anything when I work both days. Getting the laundry done and going to church seems to be all I can manage other than taking care of my granddaughter and walking the dog. I am so greatful for the overtime, but I will be greatful for some time off when we quit working weekends.
through football season. My granddaughter, her mother, and I went roller skating last weekend. My granddaughter is always so happy when I go with them. I won’t get to go this weekend, because I am working Saturday. Tomorrow we have the 80th birthday surprise party for my brother in law. We will have to head over to my nieces almost right after church to be there before the birthday boy. My granddaughter has another birthday party to go to for a friend of her and her mothers. I hope to get to the gym both today and tomorrow. I also want to get some more decluttering done, a trip to the library, and the fabric store.
and I think I pretty much wasted most of the day on Saturday. I spent Sunday with my Granddaughter at a birthday party for one of her cousins. I did a couple of loads of laundry, threw out some junk, and sorted through some other things. We did go to church and breakfast with Santa. I like to do as many of the church events as possible. My granddaughter likes to go to church events, because all of her school friends are there. We do enjoy our weekends, but I wish I would learn to make better use of my time.
I didn’t get to work this weekend;so even though that hurts financially I am makeing good use of the time off. I hung some more Christmas lights (I need to purchase 1 more strand). I cleaned some weeds, grass, and leaves out of the garden, driveway, and gutters at the section of house I was hanging lights on. I found a whole bunch of extention cords for outdoors; so I will be able to hook all the strands of lights to power without any trouble. I am going to label a container large enough to hold all of the outdoor extention cords, and I am going to label another container for all of the indoor extention cords. Bagging and boxing up more to go to goodwill stores or trash. I am trying to remain motivated and ambitious even though I am worried about finances. Church, library, Visit Great Grandparents, groceries and then home for more yard work and cleaning. I hope to fit a visit to the gym in there somewhere.
but we went to the library before work/sitters. GD has a birthday party today at her cousins house and I am working again. I hope to go to church, gym, and then my parents before leaving for work. My GD needs to get more exercise and more piano practice time. I am going to start forcing myself to put a couple of dollars away each week so we can get the piano moved here.
