I think there are many different types of intelligence in the world. E.g. there’s academic intelligence (aka being a smarty-pants), and then there is social intelligence (that is being a nice person). Both of which are learnable.
For the latter, I would give myself at the moment a good B-. I can be the kindest and most altruistic person on the planet and then again… not. At times out of spite, at times out of (social) ignorance. But, as we all now, ignorance is not an excuse (nor is spite, actually). And thus I am determined to learn to be a better person for the sake of myself and for the people who are dear to me.
But then again, Charlie Brooker’s not that nice (I think) and he seems to have a pretty solid fan club. So maybe I should just develop my own signature unniceness?
