keep learning French

I went to the Explore program at the CEGEP in Trois-Rivieres Quebec, and it was NOT what I’d expected!

Everyone was 16 (a shame when I’m 23 and expecting a college course) and the program was really disorganized and disappointing (in my Quebec cinema workshop, we watched Cheaper By the Dozen 2 with French dubbing. :( )

It was a great feeling to be able to hire a cab in French and tell him where to go, as well as to generally be able to get my point across when I was in Quebec. Pretty neat!

I have definitely not given up on learning French, but my next big goal to achieve this is to go and spend a month or more in France!

I’m off to Quebec as of tomorrow for that French Exchange. It’s going to be a BLAST and I will learn so much!

It’s very easy to get free money to learn French in Canada as the government wants to keep people bilingual! There are lots of grants and prizes and bursaries out there if you know where to find them.

I was accepted to go to Quebec on a French exchange this summer!

I’ll be spending the entire month of July speaking ONLY French with lots of other students from around the country. I can’t wait!!

I’m hoping that I’ll be able to check off this goal when I get back, but we’ll see how it goes.

My French is improving constantly. I’m very lucky to have an awesome teacher, who makes it a completly attainable goal for me!

I pulled 93% on my last test! I’ve started reading ahead in the book because I just can’t get enough of it.

I heard some girls talking in French on the bus today and I managed to keep up with most of their conversation, which was pretty neat!

This French thing could turn into an obsession!

I’ve started studying French again and I’m trying very hard to learn it well this time.

I’ve applied for a French Immersion program in the summer, so if I get in it will be a big step in completing my goal!
