Five year plan after graduation (2012 – 2017):
- Save up enough money to pay off my student loan, and put it into a high interest saving account.
- Then save up enough money for a deposit on a house – any house will do, just to get into the housing market.
- Work abroad in various places, including somewhere exotic – taking my dog of course! I’d love to see India, Nepal, Africa, Alaska, the pacific islands… while I’m still relatively young and independent.
- Learn to sail a boat, now that I can afford it.
- Start saving for my retirement, even just $20 per week, using the power of compound interest.
- Be a great auntie to my friends’ kids.
- Build my own eco-friendly home, design it and make the stained glass for it myself.
- Travel some more! Go to Antarctica, Europe, all the places I haven’t been yet.
- Back to school to do a specialist degree
- Sail around the world, or at least do a big international trip.
- Possibly have a couple of kids before I get too old – if I can find the love of my life to have kids with between now and then!
- Spoil my newly retired parents, who have sacrificed a lot for me over the years.
