learn to dance different dances (Tango, tapdancing, Flamenco, Salsa, krumping, Afrikan dances)

It’s been a year and a half since I started with the Africa Dance class at the WBC!! I take go to class every sunday as other people get up and go to church!! Dancing to the pounding energy of 18 live drummers connects by body to pure life sustaining, enhancing energy!!!!! Love in the true sense of the word!!!!!

Morning wiht V, helping her correct papers; mid-day at African Dance class getting touched by 1000 volts of light; drumming circle with kat afterwards, cool hanging; dinner with family; salsa with L and Jorge from Peru!!! So much energy and life in one day!!

from the Africa dance classes comes from the soul of the world! It’s been about 8 months I think, so I’m getting quite good, or so people, including my teachers, say. One tells me in particular that I have fire in me and it lights up when I dance. I know when I dance I touch some primal essence of being that comes from a world I’m only beginning to know. I have developed friendships with these women that goes beyond us having temporary alliances of work or class, ethnicity etc. When we dance we all come stripped down to our very essences as human beings. And we dance.

Samba! so it’s salsa, Africa dances and samba… this is fabulous… and and drumming classes!!

Classes Tuesday and yesterday… I’m home when I dance…

Are most affordable and life altering! It must be that the trillion cells ( Please see: TED Ideas Worth Spreading) that make up my body go on a happiness vinge when I dance. And they want more of where that came from. So I’m giving them more. I’m taking Salsa, West Africa Dance Sat and Wed, and i’m taking samba on Wed.

I’ve been working Sat and Sun I have missed my Africa dance classes!!! I miss the class dearly!!! I must, must, must go back… I’ll find a way to do so! I’m taking Salsa a the same place, WBC on tuesdays and I enjoy it but it is not the same. Both classes are dirty cheap and the instructors are such delight. However I am more in the energy of the Africa dance class than in the Salsa class. The two cannot compare. so again, i must find a way to go back, before I go back to Mexico and even when I go back I’ll find a way to get back into it there. afterall Mex. City must have a place where I can dance to the beat of live Africa drums…

I love, love, love dancing!!!!!!!! Salsa class tonight was fantastic, I cannot wait to get ok with it and hit the floor!!!!!! Hot Monkey Love, here I come on Sunday!!!yayyyy… it’s free too…Our teacher is funny and great… more guys than girls so it’s great… and I just laugh the whole way through.

Taking West Africa dance classes on Saturdays at the WBC in Balboa Park, and Salsa on Tuesdays, same place. The classes are super affordable, which is great for me. And yes each class has uplifted my soul time and time again. It’s beyond words what dancing does for the soul…
