Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

MandyTLCandy has written 23 entries about this goal

Time to wrap this up...

96. Snack Attack day at work. Today’s menu? Guacamole, pico de gallo, red salsa, salsa verde and plenty of tortilla chips. Mmmmm…..
97. My fabulous pen that writes beautifully.
98. Piggies. I want a potbelly one soo bad. One day, one day.
99. Getting a lil buzz on yesterday at my friends house, while watching a Cubs game. THEY WON. (:
100. And last but not least. MEEEEEE. Yes, that’s right, I make me happy.

A few more...

91. Getting the call I’ve been waiting for.
92. Finding out I have a secret admirer. It feels good to be crushed on, no matter who it is.
93. My bottle of wine, that needs to be opened tonight, to celebrate my existence (:
94. My letter to the editor of the Chicago Suntimes being published…(It was more of a rant, but hey! it still counts)
95. The weather will be in the high 70’s this week! Yay!

90. Cheese Fries

Seriously, this can be an addiction. I love me some cheese fries! Sooo good!

And the list continues...

89. My successful garage sale. More than making $, I let go of unused items…things that were just cluttering my life! I feel somehow free. No more things piling up in boxes and totes. Its gone!

88. My Papi's AMAZING garden.

Every summer, we are spoiled. My Dad loves his garden and his garden seems to love him back because we get 100’s upon 100’s of veggies growing in. They are HUGE too. I’m talking 12 inch cucumbers and tomatoes too big to hold in your hand! His kitchen is Packed with huge strainers and containers full of veggies everywhere. Because of this, my family NEVER has a shortage of salsas & salads. His neighbors love him, because he’s always giving them bags of them.
Now he only grows a few things, but its the quanity of them that comes in, that amazes me. Just the other day he handed me some bags with about 15 cucumbers, 20 or so huge tomatoes and then about 50 different kinds of peppers(:

He grows Cherry & large tomatoes
Green peppers
Habaneros (red and orange)
Jalepenos…(6 different kinds)

87. The Encouraging Peeps On 43things (:

I’m sure most of you will agree, there are just so many amazing, funny, kind, embracing people on this site! I’ve had people who have made me laugh out loud (although not too good when you’re at work), people who have made me cry by reading their inspirational words and others I just make small talk with (: I am always so happy to receive a cheer and even happier to pass them out. Yaaaaaay 43things!

86. My Mama decided to come back (:

She was gone for 5 days visiting my uncle in New Hampshire. I missed her sooooo much. I speak to or see my Mom EVERYDAY. She said it was so peaceful and beautiful out in the mountains, that she almost didn’t come back. But I am so glad she did (: I picked her up from the airport on Sunday and was so happy to see her beautiful face waiting for me.

84. Having Monday off (Yay Labor Day!)

85. DEXTER. This show seriously Rocks and I can’t get enough of it! We don’t have cable, so we wait to rent it. BUT…..finally Blockbuster came out with the complete season set. I plan on watching each and every one on my 3 day weekend!

83. My anniversary w/ my guy....

Today marks 5 years for us.

This man walked into my life and had the nerve to make me believe in love again.
He demanded laughter and kindness at all times.
He is loud and quite frankly.. sometimes embarrassing.
He has the audacity to be so good-looking to me, that after 5 years I still can’t get enough of him.
He forced my soul to do things I would have never done w/ someone else, like for instance…say I love you first. ARGH!
He made me see that your man can be your best friend as’s not always your buddies people!
He makes some delicious dishes and hypnotizes me with them, I am totally convinced!

Oh he isn’t always this charming. HIS LIST CONSISTS OF: The laundry that piles up, the groans he gives me when the dogs need to go out, the late nights w/ the fellas, his refusals to go on long walks (he’s convinced that’s what poor guys do w/ their girlfriends to make it seem romantic) Boy he has his ways of ticking me off! The disagreements, the hang-ups (well its me doing it to him, but still!), his refusal to grow-up, and all the other things that come along with boy-girl dating.

But you know what? When it all boils down to it, I don’t give a rats ass about any of it. I wouldn’t trade him for anyone else in the world..You hear that Dave Beckham?!!. He stepped up in place of Dad when my kids didn’t have one and most importantly, he shows my girls everyday how a man is supposed to treat a woman, with tons & tons of kisses and love.

Believe me, I often catch my youngest peeking out around the corner, smiling… when she watches us smooching.

Not to mention this man puts up with ME!
You should see what MY LIST CONSISTS OF (:

82. My Kiddo's sense of humor...

And the fact that she doesn’t even realize she has one.
Yesterday she came home from school, completely excited that her teacher is funny AND awesome. The teacher went on to tell the kids, that she believes they should have a pet for the class and are there any suggestions. My daughter raises her hand and says How about a dog? So the teacher says, that’s a nice idea but we can’t have a dog that’s too much hard work. Madison replies My Mom says its not hard work to have a dog, all you have to do is have a lot of love to give them.. And we have two!
So she goes on to tell me, Oh well Mom.. I tried, I guess were just gonna get a goldfish.

Oh My! I don’t EVER want to imagine my life without this ray of sunshine (:
