Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

25th Annual Chicago Blues Festival

It began yesterday and will continue through the 8th at Grant Park in Chicago. It’s the largest free blues festival in the world.

The Mister and I are headed down on Sunday to see the legendary BB KING. He hasn’t performed for the festival since 1988!! This will be my 4th time attending the festival. Amazing and soulful atmosphere. I can’t wait!

More Museums!

This past weekend my family (kids, hubby, Mom, sister, brother in law)and I went to the Museum of Science and Industry. I find it interesting, while others found it quite boring (:
While talking we all agreed on one thing…we need to start seeing A LOT more museums around Chicago! Yes, this is a well known one, but I’d like to visit the not so popular ones, the ones you didn’t even know existed. I told my Mom I’d work on making a spreadsheet of all the museums in Chicago and we can marking them off as we go along. I think it’s a good way to start (:

Tapas Time!

This place is actually located right across the street from me. I’ve been wanting to try spanish food for a long time and we picked the perfect day. We went for Sweetest day and enjoyed every minute of it. The food and service was spectacular. We also found out as we were leaving that it turns into a small club w/ a DJ and dancing later in the evening. So we will be back.

Friday Night

Tried out a new restaurant in the city (Azha) and went to a club (CherryRed) a few blocks away afterwards that I’ve never been to before. Lots and lots of fun that night (: Ate good food, enjoyed people watching, danced, drank, laughed, made-out, walked around the fabulous city of Chicago on a beautiful night…what more can a gal ask for??

Chicago Blues Festival

Took a train downtown yesterday with my boyfriend. Had a cooler full of beer and goodies. Grabbed a nice spot on the grass, enjoyed the beautiful weather, food, making out, strangers we met, good music and all the old-souls dancing…........

XOXOXO Chicago!!

Now this could only happen to a guy like me
And only happen in a town like this
So may I say to each of you most gratefully
As I throw each one of you a kiss

This is my kind of town, chicago is
My kind of town, chicago is
My kind of people too
People who smile at you

And each time I roam, chicago is
Calling me home, chicago is
Why I just brim like a cload
Its my kind of town

My kind of town, chicago is
My kind of town, chicago is
My kind of razzmatazz
And it has, all that jazz

And each time I leave, chicago is
Tuggin my sleeve, chicago is
The wrigley building, chicago is
The union stockyard, chicago is
One town that wont let you down
Its my kind of town

Lovabulls!

Although, I’ve been to the United Center 100 times, I have never attended a Chicago Bulls Game. I can’t believe how much fun it was! And when we went into OT everyone was going nuts…It was one big party! The company I work for gave us Skybox tickets, which our room had leather couches, flat screen tv, table full of munchies, 3 rows of private seating, a fridge full of beer and a dessert cart that went around to each room. (I HAD to have the caramel cheesecake). There was soo much dancing going on everywhere, I felt like we were at a club! I can NOT wait to go back. I think I am slowly but surely becoming a sport nut. Goooo Bulls!

Narcisse

Went to the elegant bar “Narcisse” this Saturday for one of my best friends birthdays..Gelli. It was so nice!! Very plush and romantic. Dim lights, gorgeous chandeliers, couches w/ velvet pillows, 3 private rooms, a beautiful king size bed in the corner…yes, you read it right…king size bed. It was small but perfect enough for you and friends to have a good time. We made our own lil dance floor next to the couches and danced for hours. The whole staff was extremely nice and I look forward to going back.

YAY! ST. PATTY'S DAY!!!

I had a great weekend. Got to stay at the Westin for the first time…..AMAZING HOTEL. It was me, my best friend and our men. Drank a couple beers and got ready in our room before heading off to the bar “O’Callaghan’s” right down the st. We only stayed for a teeny weeny bit, since the Mr. and me were feeling a lil “reckless” and wanted to go back to the room (: But it was somewhere new, something different, and we definately will be heading back!

This is a MUST !!!

I live in one of the best cities in the U.S…and yet there’s so much I haven’t seen or been to or experienced here. Well, that’s gonna change in a few days. I am going to start exploring Chicago!! (and not so much the clubs, cause I’ve been to enough of those!)
Watch out! Cause here I come!
