It turned out too big for my foot (didn’t knit a gauge swatch – shake fist!) but they are cute!

I finished my first sock! I am very excited. It’s a little loose around the calf but the foot fits perfectly. I used the kitchener stitch to bind off the toes – a lot easier than I expected. I couldn’t stop admiring my work – I can’t wait to finish the other pair and wear them!
Friday night I watched “Marie Antoinette” and worked on my socks! I managed to turn the heel – which really confused me at first but after a little ripping, knitting, ripping, and knitting I figured it out! Now I just have to figure out how to finsh the rest of the foot and toe!
I gave up on my lacy socks and decided to rip it out and just do straight knitting. I did 1×1 ribbing for 11 rows and then just went at it! I cast on 64 stitches on dpn 4 and I am a bit concerned that the socks may turn out too loose. The sock yarn I am using is fantastic – self striping and lots of fun! I can’t wait for my lunch break so I can continue knitting!
Last night I frogged the sock I was working on – decided the cuff wasn’t long enough and the pattern was worked a bit incorrectly. Started over again!
I started my first pair of socks – I am a little ambitious and am using a wavy lace pattern from a back issue of Interweave Knits Magazine. I’m worried that they may turn out a little large but it doesn’t matter since they are my first pair!!
