I’ve been thinking about getting certified to teach in the Baby Signs program with the intention of adding it to other mothering services that I can market as our rural area booms around us.
Some more signs we’re working on with our son:
airplane, pig, help, light, slide, sorry, fish, hair, happy, hat, rain, cry, awake
I’ve found that my husband has been better than I have about introducing new signs. I think that I should be trying to add 2 or 3 per week. We’ll see how it goes.

We started with the Baby Signs program, as I’d been introduced to it in college by two of my professors (the creators of the program). I then found the dvd Sign with Your Baby at our local Costco. We’ve had really good results with these, and I know that having this method of communication has made certain aspects of parenting him much easier. My husband and I even sign with each other when the occasion calls for it (like today, when DH has lost his voice due to coughing nearly all night).
