but I did clean off my coffee table, which mostly meant that the paperwork there was at least sorted into “file”, “action”, and “trash.”
If I can get motivated enough to clean off my bar, that will give me space and a filing system for the bills.
I also cleaned off my office desk, and am working through those piles.

sassymonkey at BlogHer pointed me toward this one…
A Perfect Mess: The Hidden Benefit of Disorder by Eric Abrahamson and David Freedman
It’s fairly new, so the chances of finding a used one locally are pretty slim. I may have to visit the dreaded library in order to get my hands on this one.
I should do some filing the next time I’m in front of the TV (tomorrow, for Jericho and Medium).

Time is the biggest factor in terms of getting my papers under control. I have the materials (folders, cabinets, crates, etc.), but I just need several uninterrupted hours to make a first pass at archiving, sorting, prioritizing, and tossing everything that has piled up over the past 4 years.
I want to find my notes from “File, Don’t Pile” which I read 7 or 8 years ago; if I can’t, then I may try to get a copy through an interlibrary loan (which may actually take a month or two). In the meantime, I can get some ideas from:

I’ll get in touch with R (the sitter), see if she’s available tomorrow, and see how much I can get done.
