Getting there
Last week I finally completed my Gold expedition assessment, and it was a fantastic week!
I think I can safely say that it was the best walk I’ve ever been on, and definitely the most tiring, but we were a good group and as we know each other so well and could go about the walk effectively, we were glad to hear we’d passed.
All that’s left is to get the other areas signed off and organise my residential… not too demanding then, heh?

I’m currently in the preparation stages/packing stages, as I leave for my final Gold expedition this week!
I can’t believe it’s finally come. Three/four years ago when I started Bronze I knew that I’d eventually be going for Gold, and that time has finally arrived.
Wish me luck, and I sure hope the weather is nice, not to hot, and definitely rain free!

I’ve drawn the short straw. Unfortunately due to a number of circumstances, I have to plan the whole of my groups 4-day expedition.
I spent the entire afternoon, and still haven’t finished. I forgot how time consuming such a task is! There’s deciding on a good route using a map, then calculating all the required data of distance traveled, heights climbed, times taken for each leg, along with time for stops. Way to confusing!
I should be finished tomorrow though, it’ll be a huge sigh of relief! Hopefully there won’t be anything wrong with them… fingers crossed!

I’ve managed to complete both my Bronze and Silver awards, so all that’s left is Gold.
Luckily it shouldn’t be too long before its all over. The final expedition is in about a month, and I’m getting there with the other three sections.
My only problem currently is the residential for Gold, I don’t have much free time over this summer, so I may have to squeeze something in over the October Half Term… its going to be tricky!
