start a commune

as the current featured entry points out, money is very important. which is why i have yet to do anything. but recently, some friends and I have thrown around the idea of opening an apartment complex. the currently apartment complex’s in this town are trash or tax credit (which makes them a pain to get in to).
i would like to open a decent complex that will have communal features. possibly offer free rent for working there: manning the desk, cleaning the grounds, tending to the green house.
there are a few colleges with an hours drive from here, as well as major cities for the region. i hope i can makei t work. im tired of fast food…

this goal needs more active people. i admit my previous comment is a big indepth and probably not what the masses here are imagining, but a simple, well of communes have a chance o work today. tell your friends! tell your friend’s friends! pul your money and make it happen!

that i will do this. this is all in thoery (and everything workins in theory, right?) i want to have a building (idealy three) that comprises my commune. it will supply equal living conditons for everyone involved (some people may have different things depepending on their needs). everyine would have a daily schedule to maximize the use of their time. ther would be facilities for working, learning, and playing. various jobs on the commune would be kitchen duty, tendning the gardens (hydroponics), cleaning, and whatever else. you would have access to a libray, computers/internet, a gym.
there would be 3 meals a day cooked by those on kitchen duty. the meals would something of a family affair; discussion would take place, issues would be brought up. ideas shared.
the overall goal of my idea is to provide people with a risk free enviroment that will allow them to better themselves mentally and physically without the worry of royally screwing up.
