figure out what i want to be when i grow up

I have a goal in mind. It is a pretty big endeavor.

After spending a few months in India, and returning again this year I have realized what one of my natural talents are. I give. I love to give. I love to inspire. I have found a way to do that in a healthy way the is for the benefit of those I love.

I long to give all that I have to everyone who will appreciate it.

I am also a firm believer in education – especially in developing nations. I believe that when you empower a child with an education, you not only change life for that child, but you change life for generations to come.

I would love to start an NPO at some point in the near future. As far as my education and ten-year future? I want to get an internship with the UN… which means I am going to need to be able to speak, read and write fluently in French. So, that is on the agenda for this year.

I need to finish my four year, which after meeting with an advisor about getting into grad school at the Evans School of Public Affairs at UW, appears will be completed with a non-traditional education at Evergreen State College. I need to get accepted into a graduate school… and then I can apply for the internship.

There was a day when I had my life all planned out. A beautiful map with some room for sight-seeing… Then I found myself waking up each day feeling miserable. Sure, there are things you need to endure to get where you want, but there is something to be said for natural talents, interests, and doing what makes you happy.

Three and a half years in community college… only to determine that I still have no idea. The one benefit of staying so long is that I have pretty much taken one class under each subject including: law, psychology, sociology, journalism, creative writing, literature, history, foriegn language, pottery, drawing, photography, anatomy and physiology and so on.

If I cannot determine in a classroom what it is I want to do… well then I guess I am going to have to figure it out by experiences all facets of life.
