I started running again, and it’s been great. I have yet to run a full 5k again, but I ran/walked one the other day. I’m thinking about doing the couch to 5k plan, eventhough I’ve done 5k before, just because I’m very inconsistent, and maybe building up to it will help me out.

I haven’t been running much lately because I’ve been so busy with a new job, but now that I kind of know my routine a bit better, hopefully I can get running again. I’d like to get out there almost every day, 5-6 days a week if possible. Even if I just go for one mile, it will be worth it to me to stay in shape, and each mile I do will make me a better runner. If I just do a mile, then I will focus on speed, and if I can do two or three then that will be great, and I’ll see how much faster I’m getting. Hopefully I will start this tomorrow, eventhough I will be up at 5:30 for rehearsal and work all day, getting home around 6, if I’m lucky. But that is my regular schedule three days a week, so I’m going to have to get out there and run at least a little bit when I get home those days. I want to lose three pounds in the next two weeks, so I’ve got to get on that!
If you followed along with my entries for running a 5K, you’ll know that I did this on my own, but now I want to actually compete in a race. Before I do that, though, I need to take about 5 minutes off my time. Even with that, I’ll be at the back of the pack. The first time I ran it, I did it in 40 minutes, and two days later I did it in 37.5. I’d like to get close to 30 before I race. Unfortunately, with my job and lack of free time and daylight, I don’t know how often I’m going to get to run now. Luckily in January, I think I’ll just be working three days a week, so I should have time.
