Second session — 1 year ago
Finally.
And made an appointment for my second session. It’s been 5 months. It’s time.
I got my outline of my huge back piece in August, and I still haven’t gone in to get the shading done. I’ve been playing the “but I don’t have the money right now” card, but that won’t work anymore. I really need to just do it. It just hurts a lot, and I’m a baby. I’m going to have to either suck it up or live with looking like a children’s coloring book for the rest of my life.
I got the outline of my new tattoo done on Friday, and it’s HUGE!! I gave the artist almost complete freedom, and I really like the way it’s turned out. It goes from my shoulders to the small of my back. I love it. It’s beautiful. However, since it’s just the outline right now, I’m not going to mark this as complete just yet. A couple more sessions, and this baby will be finished!
I went to my artist last Friday and told him what I wanted. I was very vague, and I gave him a lot of artistic freedom. I went in yesterday to look at what he had drawn, and I’m extremely happy with it. He’s doing a cover-up of one of my old tattoos, and he’s putting a bunch of gorgeous flowers on my back along with some nautical stars. It will take 3, possibly 4 sessions, but in the end it will be well worth the pain.
It’s so beautiful!
I think I’m going to focus on cleaning up the tattoos I have now before I get new ones. I have a moon on my right shoulerblade, and it looks like crap. It was the first one I got, and I didn’t put enough thought into it. The lines look sloppy, and the color is faded. I need to find a good artist who can work with what I have and what I want. Any suggestions on a good artist in the Indianapolis area would be appreciated.
I never thought that school would be a good excuse to get a tattoo, but it is! I’m doing a project for one of my classes, and we have to do field research and interviews and whatnot, and I’m doing mine on the emotional aspect of choosing a tattoo. What better way to document that than getting another one myself! I already know what I want, I just have to figure out where to get it, and who I should have do it since my artist moved.
Yay, school!!
