First of all, this bible is interesting in it’s modern, “laid-back” approach to the language and making it pertinent to today’s culture/way of living. There are things about it I like, others I don’t. But anyway, flipping through (because for some reason I just can’t get into the Old Testament), I stopped at this page for a couple reasons: 1) The name Ezekiel reminds me of someone I met awhile back; 2) “Judged According to the Way you Live” was the bold-face subtitle. This hits me in a soft spot this week, as I’ve been confronted with some perceptions (wrong and right) about who I am by people who are in my life.
This entry made me think about their views of me and what I could be doing to create this image. Ultimately, it’s not about what others think of me, but what God thinks of me. And what I believe is that if I feel truly, honestly right with myself, my decisions and my actions, then more than likely, God is going to feel the same.
The last line of my Bible’s passage reads: “Make a clean break! Live!”
