I spent a week in Florida this summer. Now I see why people that live there come north for the summer. It was so hot and even the ocean didn’t offer much relief. I did have a good time there though. I got to see the Red Sox play Tampa Bay at Tropicana Field which is air conditioned. I also saw some awesome sunsets over the Gulf.

I spent a few days in the White Mountains in NH last week. It’s a very nice area with lots of things to do. I went to the top of Mt Washington (in a van – I didn’t drive) and the day I was there it was 35 degrees with winds of 55-60 mph which made the wind chill about 18 degrees. I was wearing shorts so I didn’t spend too much time outside!

I went to Vermont over the 4th of July weekend. I stayed in the small town of Arlington, which is between Bennington and Manchester. It was a nice weekend except the weather was kind of cool and cloudy. Bennington was great with 57 moose statues in different parts of the city.

I went to Washington DC in April. I always enjoy going there. There’s so much to do and see and most of it’s free. I enjoy going there every few years.

I spent a weekend at a very nice bed and breakfast in Fitzwilliam last weekend. It was just what I needed to get away from the stress and worries of everyday life. Here’s a link to the “Little House” where I stayed.

I’m taking a trip to wine country in New York next month. I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll be in the Finger Lakes area and I’ve heard it’s really nice there. It should be a fun trip!

I had great trip to Maine this summer. I visited Camden, Bar Harbor (including Arcadia National Park) and Portland.
Next trip will be to wine country in New York in October.
I’m looking forward to that since I’ve never been there.

I have a couple of trips planned for this summer. I plan on going to Camden, Maine and Acadia National Park in Maine in early July. Then at the end of July I’m going to go to Burlington, Vt. for a conference. I plan on staying there a couple of extra days.

Well, I did manage to go to a couple of places this summer so far. I spent a week in Maine (near Old Orchard beach) and went into Portland for a day. And last week I went to Boston for a conference. It was work related but it was nice to go into Boston for a few days. I’d still like to make a few more trips before the summer is over.

I really need to get out of my small town and experience different places and things. I’m going to Virginia for a class in May but it somewhere I’ve been before and I won’t have much time to drive around etc.
