It's official

12 Weeks or 3 months to the day since I stopped smoking.

This is what I would call the official stopped smoking time.

In the 12 weeks I have smoked 2 cigs. 1 when I was drunk as a skunk which doesn’t happen often and 1 when I went fishing.

The cig when I was drunk tasted great, the one when I was fishing tasted like a ash tray, and just reminded me why I stopped in the first place.

So all in all £365.40 saved and I haven’t smoked 1678 cigs.

1678 that sounds crazy… in just 12 weeks. I dread to think what I have done to my lungs over the past 14 years of smoking.

I’m so happy I have stopped, the feeling of not been tied down to smoking is great.

I wish everyone else luck in stopping smoking it really is the best thing you can do. I know longer crave cigs, they very rarely enter into my thoughts anymore. Only at odd times and then it’s forgotten.

Week 9

I haven’t updated since 1 month of not smoking, so I thought I’d give you a updated of where I am.

I only have 3 weeks now of no smoking and my 3 months is completed, it’s seams to have flown past.

Christmas was a interesting time, what with all the parties and everyone seamed to smoke all the time.

Does this seam familiar to anyone, Your at a resturant and they come to tell you your table is ready, you realise you still have a lot of your ciggy left, and your start smoking like a mad person to get it finished, because theres no way your putting out more than 1/2 a ciggy. Well this happened to us and watching 5 people smoke as deep and fast as they can is quite amazing to watch. It’s hard to explain the feeling when your not doing it but can remeber you’d be the one doing it. Also getting up between courses to fit a quick ciggy in.

I wish you could record and show other people the feeling in my head when I see things like the above. If you could put it in other smokers heads I’m sure that more people would stop. I was always worried that I would still want a ciggy after 1month ,1 year. Thats what people used to always say. “oh I stopped 5 years ago and theres times I would love a cig”. This doesn’t help. I just wish I had realised earlier how good it makes you feel.

Wow I’ve ranted a bit there haha.

Anyways
9 Weeks
£274.05 better off
1260 ciggys not smoked.

I’ll do my 5 mins per ciggy calculation again (people say each cig takes 5 mins off your life)

105 Hours
4.375 Days

I hope all you people stopping smoking keep at it. It really is worth it.

Just realised I fogot to say anywhere that I didn’t smoke at all.

Good luck to you.

1 Month

1 Month of not smoking and it’s great. I still can’t decided to call this completed or not, as the 1 month has gone so fast. Maybe I should keep it open until the recomended quiting time of 3 months?

Or maybe until after the holiday period?

Anyway

So far

£121.80 saved
not smoked 560 ciggys

Again working on 5 mins off your life for ever 1 ciggy.

I have extended my life by 46.7 hours or nearly 2 days.

1 month of not smoking to save 2 days of my life seams like a no brainer to me.

Another Week

Thought I’d just update while this is still open. Didn’t smoke this week, didn’t want one, went to partners mums again, wow it’s amazing how much you smell smoke when you don’t smoke.

I use to smoke but my partner didn’t I don’t know how she could stand it.

Its now 21 Days of Not Smoking
Saved: £90.35
Cigs not smoked: 420

Thats sounds like a HUGE amount of ciggys and in only 3 weeks, damn thats scary.

Just out of interest with working on the old, 1 cig = 5mins off your life

The last 3 weeks of not smoking mean I haven’t lost 2100 mins or 35 Hours of my life. Thats even scarier eh!

Day 12, 13 and 14

I think… I am a Non Smoker. And I’ll explain why.

I have not been craving cigs at all, apart from very small pangs of I want one which last about 15 seconds.

I’ve also turned into the non smoker I didn’t want to be telling other smokers “you really should stop you know” I hate people who do that lol.

And I was sat the other day in my partners mums house with her brothers and mum all smoking, it was awful, it smelt so bad like an old pub in the morning. Sometimes they smoked 3 cigs in like 20mins, it made me feel sick that just 2 weeks ago I would have been doing the same thing.

I feel so free, not timing everything to having a cig, shopping is easier cos I’m not trying to squezze a cig inbetween each store.

I’m going to stop updating this unless I have anything new to report as I really do think I’m a non smoker now.

However I’m not going to sign it off until at least a month has gone by, if I haven’t had 1 ciggy by the 7th December, I’ll sign it off as completed.

Day 11

Yesterday without a patch was fine. So not put one on today either.

I think it’s easier through the week due to been in the office, maybe it will be harder during the weekend when I have more time doing nothing.

Day 10

Woke up this morning with out my patch on.

I didn’t feel like a cig at all, so I haven’t put a patch on today.

12:33 and still not one craving.

Heres hoping I don’t need em anymore! fingers crossed

Day 9

Woke up this morning, and for the first time I didn’t crave a cig that badly. Just a little but it went in no time at all this morning.

fingers crossed for more mornings like this one

Day 8

I don’t know what the hell is going on in my life atm… Sat and Sun and Mon were nice and quiet just as I was begining to think this is better.

MY GF crashed the car this morning, she’s ok and my Daughter wasn’t in the car. It wasn’t a bad crash but still… it was her fault and now we have to pay for the damage cos only thrid party and of course insurance going to bee through the roof if the other guy decides to claim through insurance.

Well anyway I really felt like a ciggy but didn’t give in. Roll on more problems.

My life used to be so quiet.

Day 7

Well I’ve made it to day 7, even with everything that has happened this week, I haven’t had 1 ciggy. I really can’t belive it I’m so proud of myself for getting through week 1.

My usual atempts at giving up are swarmed with I’ll just have one, I’ll just buy 10, I’ll just smoke for tonight.

I acutally forgot to replace my patch this morning after my daughter decided to rip it off my arm at 7am. Not the best way to be woken up lol. And it wasn’t bad at all.

I have a new plan I’m going to try, I’m going to complete 3 weeks of patch 1 and try going for a week without a patch to see how I manage, if I start getting bad cravings I’ll start using the patch again and order patch 2.

As far as I’m concerned the sooner I get of any reliability on nicotine the better.
