Still going well. Enough said!

15 weeks

I got my nails done again while I was in NJ. The place I went to, Hoja, was amazing. They did such a much better job than the place back home, plus they were faster and cheaper. Why don’t they open up another store in the UK!? haha So I think I’m gonna have to find a new regular nail salon and get my money’s worth.
Anyway, my nails are going well. Even the pinkies are going strong. yay.

Thirteen weeks

Blah… I have been picking at my pinkies a lot. They have both lost length and one of them is, particularly, not doing well. I’ve managed to take about 1/3 of the gel polish and a few layers of of nail from it. Ugh/
In general I’m doing well but I have to up my game.

Three months!

I can’t believe it has been three months since I stared this goal. And three months is usually how long it takes me to get really used to something – for it to feel like the status quo, so I’m hoping it’ll just get easier from now on too.
Having said that I have gone this long (and longer) without biting my nails before so I can’t totally relax. I also still have the urge to pick at my nails… which is why my pinkies both currently have breaks in them which the gel polish is keeping at bay.
I’m really happy with the results so far though so I gotta keep it going. I think if I can get to four months, I’ll consider this goal done.

Eleven weeks!

Just got back from getting my nails done again. I got the french manicure I wanted this time… and they are looking good! I love it. My nails have never looked this good in my entire life… it’s a big deal to me because I’d been biting my nails since I was like six years old.

I think the next time I get them done will be in NJ when I go for Thanksgiving… my friend and I can go for a girly day. Can’t wait.

Ten weeks

The nails are still doing well and no biting! I was a bit bad and picked off the gel polish from both of my pinkies. Anyway, I’m going to put some normal polish on to keep them protected until next week, when I’m getting another manicure.
I can’t believe I’ve almost gotten to 3 months with this goal. I don’t think my nails have ever looked to good or been this strong.

Nine weeks

The bio sculpture nails are still going strong, and they work really well as a shield. Even when I get the urge to pick, I can’t. They also feel a lot stronger with the gel polish on, which is great because I’m not paranoid about them breaking, and I know they are just getting longer and stronger underneath.
I have another appointment in two weeks time and can’t wait to finally get my french manicure. Woot!

Two months!

Two months and no biting. But it was getting hard for me to do the upkeep every week. They were starting to look really ragged and not nice.

So I went for a manicure this morning and got my nails done with bio sculpture gel polish. The girl worked on my cuticles and shaped my nails really well (into ‘squovals’, as she called it). This gel polish is really good for nails; doesn’t dry them out and protects them (unlike acrylics, which I tried in the past).

But I don’t really like their range of colors. I picked what I though would be the most nude/natural looking color but instead I got like a very barbie pink. haha. Oh well. (Another good thing about the gel is you can actually paint over it with normal nail polish if you want to change the color, and just take that top layer off as you would normally without damaging the gel coats underneath.)

Anyway, I am so proud of how this goal is going I just had to post a pic! My next appointment is at the end of the month; hopefully, my nails will be a bit longer by then and I’ll be able to get a pretty french manicure!

The first casualty...

That break in my pinkie finally gave in. So there goes the length on that one. :-(
Oh well, at least didn’t go down from biting… plus now it can start level from scratch.

Seven weeks tomorrow

Still going strong on this goal. No biting at all. Though, my right pinkie does have a weird pseudo-break in it. I also haven’t given myself a manicure for weeks and the paint job is looking ragged.
And just as a side note: why do the nails on my ring fingers grow slower than all the others!? It doesn’t make sense.
