Went to Ground Zero to see Skye Foundation, then hit up the Real Gypsy to see The Dirty Eighties (and, subsequently, The Defilers who ROCKED!) After that we hit up the Sugar Shack (the local girl bar) to see Chris’ farewell show as DJ for Culture Prophet.
I purchased my tickets at 12:02 p.m. for the now sold-out Ben Harper & Relentless 7 show at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta.
SO. FUCKING. EXCITED. Ben Harper is my favorite musician. (Note: this does mean I think he is the best, or that I think he’s the best of all time, it just means I listen to Ben Harper and his various projects more than I listen to any other act.)
Jake and I went to Gypsy’s last night and saw a few random bands: Heart Machine, Fast Boys, P-47 Bombers, Living Wrecks. Lots of pirate punch consumed my Jake and me, lots of PBR consumed by the kids in tight clothes who were all wearing sunglasses in a dark bar and too cool to dance.
