My husband and I started doing this together every evening. We sometimes forget, but it takes a while to start a new habit. It’s not only a great way to be more appreciative and to focus on all the good things in our lives, but it’s a great way for us to communicate more/better, too.

Motivation for keeping up with journal  — 1 year ago

I started doing this a year ago when I was pregnant, but then kind of dropped it after a few weeks. Since I wanted to start again – and involve my husband – I dug out the notebook I had been using. I read the entries from last year and it was so fun to see what was going on in my life a year ago that I was grateful for! Now I’m more motivated about this goal because the journal will also be worth saving for the memories. (I haven’t yet approached my DH about doing this with me. I thought we could make a list every night at bed time. Watch, he’ll probably think it’s weird.)
