Strangers I have talked to lately:
Kelsey. I know her name nowww so she’s no longer a stranger. In fact, I have her number as well (and should probably see if she’d be up for FP tomorrow). Anyway, we talk pretty often now, riding together in the mornings on the streetcar. Stranger-turned-acquaintance.
I recommended drinks to two fellas who sat next to me at Kelly’s O yesterday. They looked like they needed a good suggestion (black and blue) and they appreciated it and ordered them.
Also yesterday, I was walking along Vaughn and passed a gallery with a birdcage in the window. In the cage was a brain. Outside, a guy was smoking and I assumed he probably lived in the apts. above the gallery so I say “wonder what that’s all about?” and it turns out he’s the owner and says “Let me show you.” He totally opened up, turned on the lights, turned on the brain piece (which didn’t do a whole lot—not his work) and I checked out some other cool pieces around. Justin is his name and I invited him to the Vaughn house for a beer but he said he had to be up early and was on his was home. He gave me a flier for a new artist opening there this upcoming week (or maybe the week after) and I think I’ll pop in.
Another stranger was a guy on the street corner with me waiting on traffic and when I looked over I noticed he was wearing a Rosetta Stone shirt (the learn-a-language program Michael Phelps learned “Chinese” with before the Olympics last year… ahem) so I ask, somewhat sarcastically, “how many languages have you learned?” and he’s says “3 fluently” and moves on quickly to say which he had learned, is learning and wants to learn. My work was less than a block away so I just kinda said ‘right on’ and dropped off. He said to go see him at the Rosetta Stone cart in the mall. hahaha. Wonder if he’d hook me up with his employee discount?? =P
