Slacking! 15 months ago

I don’t know what happened but my stamina for all this exercise just gave out! I’m going to make sure I go to the gym tomorrow though. I leave for school in 12 days and I plan on working out almost every day before I have to leave and get rid of my membership. I might retire this goal for now and start up a new one: Instead of gaining the freshman fifteen, I’m going to try my best to lose fifteen pounds by Christmas time. Luckily, I’m going to a school with a lot of healthy choices in the cafeteria and a super-hilly campus. I’m already planning my weekly schedule for the rec center. I think if I can find a work-out buddy, I just might make it! If nothing else, I want to at least stay the size that I am now. No way am I going to allow myself to gain fifteen! Wish me luck!

Ouch 16 months ago

Let myself slip for a week and the end result was not pretty! Mini vacations can really mess up your workout plan! However, I am taking it as a good thing that I have been replenished and am even more motivated to get back to that gym and lose what i gained back! Combine that with the fact that I started a spin and tone class that meets twice a week AND i’ve begun to work out at night before I got to bed too, I’d say that this minor slip can only help push me forward!

Wish me luck!

Almost five now! 16 months ago

At first it didn’t seem like much. I don’t think I really look any differently but I feel more energized! Also I’m really starting to enjoy my time spent at the gym. It’s weird how much you like it after you’ve been going for a while! So I found out just today that I’m almost at that 5 lb marker! It feels awesome! I realize it’s only a sixth of my goal but I’m still getting closer and closer everyday. I’m really proud of myself!

My friends are still treating me skeptically but I do have one friend who is being very supportive! He’s always giving me tips and supporting me. I can’t believe how lucky I am to have someone cheering me on! I hope you all find someone to cheer you on too and until then I hope you get many cheers here on 43 things!

1 down, 29 to go! 17 months ago

Yay! I weighed myself after my first week of working out at the new gym! I only lost one pound but I hear it’s only healthy to lose 1-2 a week so I’m pleased to be right on board! It definitely perked me up and gave me energy to keep trying! Some of my friends have been less than supportive but a few have been wonderful, giving me tips and cheering me on! (And of course everyone on 43 things who has cheered me on as well!) All in all it looks like I’m headed in the right direction, at least for now!

Progress! 17 months ago

My mom and I just got a membership at the local gym for the summer! It’s a really nice new facility with lots of interesting classes, a pool, and even a healthy juice bar! Instead of getting a second job this summer, I think I’m going to work on getting into shape and making healthier choices for the next 4 years! wish me luck!

The long summer fight begins... 17 months ago

I’m young so this really shouldn’t be that hard! At least that’s what people keep on telling me…still, I can’t help feeling like I’m stuck in this god awful rut of laziness. I just can’t seem to get motivated…I don’t want to head into the next chapter of my life feeling the way I do now. I want to feel different than this. I have hated myself for far too long and it’s time to stop.

So…where do I start?
