Back to the diet.... 2 years ago

I started Slimming World 8 weeks ago and have lost a total of 4.5lb. Not a huge amount but I’ve gone down from 10.7 to 10.2.5 – I was surprised I’d lost the 1lb I put on last week plus an extra 1/2lb! So on average losing half pound per week. Doing it via Slimming world online – can’t count calories or weigh everything so this is the easiest way for me to lost weight. I’m also walking more which I’m sure helps!

I have good reasons for wanting to lose weight this time – I aim to get down to 9st 7lbs before the Charleston BC Convention in April! It’s also my eldest son’s wedding in August!

Oh dear! 4 years ago

It’s been 4 weeks since my last entry which says it all really! Not been dieting…in fact I ate 3 apples with 3 packets of hoola hoops yesterday, maybe I thought the apples would make them more healthy! Today I have a headache so no dieting today either….

Had a weigh-in and I’m 10st 7lb which is not good considering I’m only 5ft 2”! I’ve put on all but 1 of the 7lbs I lost earlier this year. But now I have a plan!

Plan: Next Wednesday I will join Slimming World in Didcot. I definitely need some motivation if I’m ever going to get back to 9 1/2 stone!

Update 4 years ago

I was surprised when I weighed myself this morning to find I was the same weight as a week ago, although I had gained a 1lb the week before.

I’ve been eating out a lot over the last few weeks, keeping an eye on what I’m eating, so that probably helped – also went on a couple of long walks on the N Yorks moors last weekend which must have helped, considering what I ate and drank last weekend!!

The Unconvention is next week so I aim to be really strict about my diet until then….intend to have a great time, and eat exactly what I fancy that weekend, so if there are chocolate cakes, I’ll have one without feeling guilty!!

Today so far: Breakfast 1 low fat yoghurt and a huge bowl of fresh apricots and strawberries.

Lunch – well, this will be at the Cherry Tree cos of the BC meet there but will stay off the high carb bread and chips and have diet coke to drink instead of cider or wine!

Evening: Will probably be a chilli with a huge salad (no rice or bread)

Weigh-in 4 years ago

My weigh-in is on Sat mornings. This week my weight stayed the same – phew! I’d had several meals out & had moved over to the Slimming World plan – really ‘felt’ as though I might have gained weight!

Over the last 3 weeks I’ve lost a total of 1/2 stone so not too bad.

Aim for this week: To keep wine for weekends only and drink lots of water. Continue to stay off bread too. OK I did have a little this week….but it was the French Market at Henley so couldn’t resist buying a baguette for the BC picnic!!

Plan and update! 4 years ago

No longer on a low carb diet….I woke up this morning unable to face yet more cheese, eggs and meat!!....checked back in my diary and I’ve been doing this Low Carb diet for 12 days and lost 6lbs so averaging out at .5lb per day, not bad considering I did eat nuts when I got in from work….oh and of course there was the wine! ;)

SO from this morning I’m doing a more sensible Slimming World plan on days when I’m either too busy or can’t be bothered to weigh things & counting calories on other days…same thing really but just a different method!

All that fat….I’ve been looking back at my low-carb diet profile on WLR website and it was sooo full of fat! Still for 12 days it did give me a weight loss boost & got me back on track!

My appetite has certainly reduced.

So today’s menu was:

Breakfast: 1 slice bacon (cooked more but couldnt face it so the dog had the rest!!) and 1/2 tin baked beans (yum – all those carbs!!)

Lunch: 2 bananas and a fruit salad from M&S (YUM! first fruit in 12 days!!)

Dinner: a Pesto Pasta salad with spinach, tomatoes and pine nuts (all those carbs! yummy!)

Plan: To not eat bread if I can help it!...I do overdo bread if it’s warm and crusty….. And to not drink wine mid-week, since it does seem to lessen the will-power! I’ll try to keep wine for weekends only!

I started dieting for 'real' a week ago! 4 years ago

After trying half heartedly on and off for the last year or so! I find www.weightlossresources.co.uk invaluable – log my weight and measurements and food diary – oh, and if you do any exercise log that too you are then allowed extra calories!!

I started following a low carb diet beg last Friday – and its working, I’ve lost around 4lb this week so far (well first week you tend to lose more dont you). It’s not Atkins – not keen on all that cream and butter! – eating lots of veg with meat, fish, eggs and cheese mainly – cutting out completely potatoes, rice, pulses (for a week or two) bread and pasta – oh and no fruit for a couple of weeks until I’ve really got going!

Ideally I'd like to lose nearly 2 stone - but realistically I'll be happy with a stone.

I do feel I’m now in the ‘right’frame of mind to stick to the diet too which helps!! I went shopping for clothes just over a week ago with my sister & hated everything I tried on – because I felt so fat in them, and she kept telling me I actually needed a size 16 not a 14 ….NO WAY! That certainly set me dieting!!

Good luck everyone – let’s see if we can all shed a few pounds before the Unconvention!
