That’s sad. The fact I’ve avoided writing anything about this goal speaks volumes. Shit. Does that about sum it up?!

Who knew I’d like these
and even more surprising that I could sneak it to my husbands sandwich without him being the wiser. Thanks “Mom” for gradually bringing me to the “other side” although the dark side still has it’s appeal…..hmmmm chocolate.
Now I just need to find a way to get my daughter to follow along as I try and develop new and better habits for all of us. I tried making her a sandwich like ours, no go, “it’s yucky” she proclaimed. “No it’s not, it’s yummy” I interjected convincingly I thought “no it’s not yummy it’s yucky” she persisted. I relented and gave her an apple, tried to sneak a small sliver of the avocado figuring it’s green I can trick her – nope as soon as she had it in her hand she made her “yucky” face and said “it’s not apple,it’s yucky”. You’re too quick to be outsmarted by Mom, that didn’t take long.
I am going to start compiling a grocery list with some healthy choices, alternatives, newly discovered foods I can like and/or tolerate, new foods I am willing or curious to try before my big Grocery Shop at the beginning of each month. In addition I’d like to make a list of meals I’d like to try each week.
I have a couple of helping hands (one pair that is) with this goal, helping in the sense they aren’t giving into my weaknesses and feeding my addictions. No matter how much I beg, what a good friend.

As it turns out I like veggies, it’s all in how they are cooked and these were yummy (admittedly I didn’t have all the veggies listed but I am sure I’d enjoy it with the additions). I will keep looking for new ways to prepare veggies I just don’t like those boiled veggies that come out all mushy.
So after 4 days I have had one glass of coke and my daily slurpee, this is a DRAMATIC decrease and I barely miss it, been enjoying my water and Koala Springs, soon I hope to rid this almost entirely, instead of being part of my regular diet it will be a treat!
First and most important I need a good substitue for Coca-Cola. I like water but it just isn’t satisfying enough to “replace” coca-cola. Everything I can find seems only marginally better, I love Koala Springs but it has quite a bit of sugar and is quite expensive. If I can find a good subsitute for this one, which is my “worst” bad habit I am on my way!
can someone kick my ass, pleeease help me turn this leaf over, I am having such a hard time kicking this one into gear! But one good thing, I made not just pancakes the other morning but blueberry pancakes! They are by far better than plain ones and blueberries are full of goodness right! I deserve no praise though, as you might well know I haven’t been journaling what I’ve been doing/eating because it hasn’t been good and I am too ashamed, and that is bad. Why is this goal such a tough one, I know how important it is but can’t seem to find the time or energy with everything else I am trying to do!
Its not getting any easier to do some Yoga in the evening to relax and improve my overall health and flexibility or get to bed earlier because my husband who used to be early to bed lately never seems to go to bed before midnight because he is busy working!
Maybe not quite “square” but I fed myself, pat pat. For breakfast I had scrambled eggs, 2 slices of bacon (naughty I know but it’s sooo yummy), grapes and a glass of water. For lunch I had perogies, some uncooked snow peas (love love these, so great to find veggies I like)and V8 Punch. For dinner I had Sheppards Pie and again some more snow peas (I also occasionally snacked on snow peas during the day, damn they are good)! I had one can of Coke today and a Coke Slurpee. Don’t talk to me about FudgeeO cookies though, my husband brought them home, guess I better tell him about my goal!
