write a fantasy novel

Over time the idea I have working on has turned into a giant pile of fantasy clichés, it’s very depressing. I’ve tried taking stuff out, moving events around reworking the world it’s set in but I just can’t seem to get anything that I really feel passionate about; so for the moment I’m putting aside this goal.

I’m hoping that if I let the idea sit and come back to it after a while I’ll get some fresh ideas to restart it.

I’ve been working on one idea for two or three years now, it’s an infrequent thing and I’m still in the worldbuilding stage, but it’s coming along. A lot of inspiration has been flowing lately and I’ve written a bit more, started fleshing out the plot and conceived of some new characters . It’ll take me a while but it’s happening.
