The other day a woman came in to pay a bill (I work for a bank) and she only spoke spanish. I was able to explain stuff to her and communicate in spanish! YAY!! although my spanish was horrible, I was still able to communicate.

Well I’ve got alot of basic vocab. If I were to claim that I know french and english 100% then I could also say that I know spanish…. 25%. (I clarify by comparison cause there are english and french words I don’t know, but still consider myself to know most of the common language).
I learned body parts a couple days ago and I’m working on verbs now. I’m also trying to make sure I can spell them right aswell, I find that I can say alot of the stuff but I can’t write it.
I haven’t touched my spanish really since I made up that challenge, time to cram!!!! lol
Ok, so I decided that the best way to get this done is to spend an hour a day (every day) on spanish, this includes two 20 mins lessons and 20 mins doing exercises in my workbook building up my vocabulary and such. Also I want to post spanish words around the house (from little stickers that came with one of my spanish books).
I also have a couple books and a spanish newspaper that I want to be able to read, so that is another way of gaging my progress :D
Entiendo casteyano um pocco, pero, no hablo muy bien.
So far I’m on lesson 3 of 30 (beginner’s)
It’s so discouraging to have to redo all these thrirty lessons all over again, but I know I have to cause I lost alot of it and need to get back into the ‘groove of things’.
Anyway, off to do some of the writting and vocabulary in my workbook…
I used to be at an intermidiate level about a year or so ago, but I’ve since lost it. I definately want to fix this so I’m gonna make a plan to follow.
Go through lessons 1-30 of Pimsleur’s Beginner’s Spanish
Make up a scrable game with spanish words
Meet Spanish people and speak spanish with them
Do a lesson a day of Pimsleur’s Intermediate Spanish and Pimsleur’s Advanced Spanish
Keep some spanish pen pals to make sure I don’t loose the spanish.
To Test Myself:
Once I can watch a spanish movie and can understand 75-80% of it.
