Still coming down, but my LDL is still somewhat high. My numbers are as follows:
Total 194 (Normal <200)
LDL 128 (Normal <100)
HDL 54 (Normal 50-60)
Triclycerides 60 (Normal <150)
Fasting blood glucose was 88.
I can keep trying to lose weight, but otherwise I think that LDL number might be caused by heredity. I will keep working on weight loss, though.

It’s coming down!! My HDL (so-called “good”) cholesterol and triglycerides are in a healthy range; my LDL (so-called “bad”) cholesterol is still borderline high. I do not, however, need to go on medication. I am supposed to continue my efforts to lower it and lose weight. LDL is manufactured by your own liver and I have a theory that my liver is over-manufacturing to compensate for my being overweight. We’ll see. It will be re-tested in the summer.

That’s what I learned my cholesterol was today, and my doctor says if I don’t lower it through diet and exercise by July, she is going to put me on meds. I don’t like that thought at all. The scary part is, when I read about the foods to eat to lower cholesterol, I find that is about how I eat. I sincerely hope I CAN lower my cholesterol through diet and exercise.
