Learn to play the ocarina

Been practising various different songs and tunes. For any anime fans out there, “Always With Me” (played during the end credits of the film “Spirited Away”) sounds particularly good on the ocarina. theocarinanetwork.com are very helpful with lots of sheet music and tabs to help you.

About a month ago, I bought a toy plastic ocarina just to see if I could stick to it. I can’t really play a lot of things and I can’t read music so I wouldn’t say I’ve achieved this goal yet but I hope to someday. I guess my real goal is more like “buy a ceramic ocarina” so I have something better to practice on. One good place to start if you’re teaching yourself is the Ocarinas United forums at http://ocarinasunited.freeforums.org/portal.php They’ve got some great advice for beginners and are a great community to be a part of while you’re learning.
