I just finished the first 30-day stretch of my diet. I lost 6.7kg (14.7 lbs) and am pretty happy with that. I now have a four week break where I can eat normally and stabilize my weight so my body can get used to it. After those four weeks I’ll start another 30-day stretch on the way to my goal.
I won’t lie, it’s not easy. It’s a fight against temptation, every single day. But I’ll get there.

only four more weeks to go until the break. :-) I did pretty well this week. Of course, it’s a fight every single day but it’s worth doing it. Last week I started at 92.3kg. Today I was down to 89.1kg. That’s a lot of weigth to loose within a week and I know I can’t keep up that pace. But it’s still a very nice encouragement.

It’s official now – this morning I started the next 30-Day stretch of my diet. Here are my starting stats:
Since I stopped the diet in November I gained 2.6 kilos. That’s not too bad, considering I wasn’t paying attention to my food the last couple of weeks at all. I was indulging in chocolate, pizza and potato chips. I guess this had a lot to do with the stress and me knowing that I was going to start over anyways. So here I am. The goal for the next 30 days is to get down to 85kg. I can do that. Because I’m a fighter and I ain’t gonna face no defeat! ;-)

This book was absolutely awesome! The Fat Girl’s Guide to Life by Wendy Shanker.
Back cover text:
“Wendy Shanker is a fat girl who has simply had enough: enough of family, friends, co-workers, women’s magazines, even strangers on the street all trying (and failing) to make her thin. With a mandate to change the world, and the humor and energy to do it, Wendy shows how media madness, corporate greed, and even the most well-intentioned loved ones can chip away at a woman’s confidence. [... The book] provides thought-provoking insights, statistics, and body-image resources intended to restore a realistic standard of beauty to the 68 percent of American women who wear a size 12 or larger, inviting you to step off the scale and weigh the issues for yourself.”
What a wonderful, empowering book! It had me both chuckling and wiping a tear from the corner of my eye. Wendy described so many things I could relate to – I had my share of humiliating experiences as well. She also inspired me to make changes in my life and to ask questions. Gotta love the conspiracy theory behind the whole Weight-Loss Industry – I knew I hated WW for a reason! LOL
A highly recommended read not only for Fat Girls!

For some reason I’m having a hard time lately to drink enough. So here’s my secret weapon that helps me to ingest enough fluids, helps getting my nasty cold under control and is supposed to burn fat as well:
Put a pan full of water on the stove, add freshly grated ginger (amount to taste), bring to a boil, add juice from a lemon – drink hot or cold. :-)
If you absolutely must you may sweeten the drink with a bit of honey or stevia.
Enjoy!

... now for the rest in 2007. I fought hard last year and lost 25kgs (about 56lbs). I’m on a break at the moment until February where I’m just supposed to keep my weight, which I’m doing nicely. However, I’m not yet done. I’m still overweight and not completely happy with myself yet. So – another 20kgs have to go. And I know, I’ll manage.
