Support Geek the Library campaign

Des Moines Public Library(s) all branches will be closed December 21st to 28th.
Now will the patrons finally relize how important the libraries are.
Everyone was there stocking up on materials.
#4 days unpaid leave for ALL employees,MANDATORY.
It could happen anywhere
States with the number of Libraries this could happen to ..

And thats Just the Public libraries that ar Accreditted,
It doesn’t even include the little towns that have a voluntary lending library.
This just makes me weep. Can you even imagine not having the library.
Even if it’s just the knowledge that it’s there if you would like to go/It could disappear within the time it takes a City council to meeet! AUrg, I just want to scream.

Please, There are counters on the doors to let the Directors know how many people that are being served.
A person Just won’t understand until they are no longer There.
Just ask some of the Patrons of the California Libraries that we closed and are open” no more forever”.
Our Neighborhood branch has to close for 3 weeks.
Each Branch has to take it’s turn closing.This is so they do not have to close the doors FOREVER!
Now is the time to show the support that the public libraries deserve.
They are not just warehouses for books any more.
There are services that would amaze and asstound.

sadly I wore it to the library and they didn’t notice even while looking at me/through me! so sad.
But I’m Happy with the shirt!

I Geek Postcards, 1000’s of them cover my “office” walls,
I love to get weeded magazines at the library and make my own cards to send.
I go through themes depending on what has been taken out of the collection. the money goes back to the library funds.
I plan on getting my friends of the library membership up to date.
