no kings, no queens,no astronauts. human flaws and all, they were Just good people doing their best.I’ve gone back 12 generations, i would have to learn italian to continue and i have no motivation to learn italian beyond what little i have.I could go latterally but i already know i have a gillion cousins .Eventually I will chart more but in reality I have gone as far back i as i want at this point.I am here,they helped shape the family i’m in good bad or indifferent .I’m calling this done for now.

1923,how many ways can an italian name be spelled, 6 ways for mine and its the same family,”montenguise”,montinguise montangnese,montangnes,montinguses,montengnese. I have searched census records,everbody live in the same house for decades but the name is spelled different each time it is numerated.the worst are the precinct roles! thank goodness for family first names.

I did the DAR membership. 8 generations back, to 1756.birth records, marriage records, census/local/state/federal/province. Baptism, obituaries, land patents, pension records, wills…governments all over the world love to count people and make official records. There is a way to prove relationships by names listed and joined on official documents.
Cathibeth said how many peter yoders… how many Jacob’s can be in one family… well what you need to look for is middle names that they were actually called by. I have Jacob fiecht, Jacob john, Jacob Benjamin… the naming pattern carries to this day with john as a first name, the use of the second name as informal, john Benjamin, john Craig, john Christopher…
