The Line of Beauty 3 years ago

Stopped by the local used book store the other day on a trading run, and they had Hollinghurst’s The Line of Beauty, which I snatched up. Now I’ve got something on the list again. Yay! And now that vacation is finally here, I should be able to get some reading done.

Margaret Atwood 3 years ago

Got a late Christmas present today … Margaret Atwood’s Blind Assassin. I’ve got three heavy books on my “currently reading” shelf, but after that ….

But even having to wait a little, I’m a very happy camper.

Hiatus 4 years ago

I’ve actually got no more books on the list at the moment, and I promised my wife I’d read everything on the shelf that I haven’t read yet before I buy a new book, so unless I get a gift, I’ll be stuck (probably for quite a while, too … I’ve got about 90 books to go!)

Next in line ... 4 years ago

After a short respite … started Oscar and Lucinda (Peter Carey; 1988) today.

Status Update 4 years ago

Finished Ondaatje’s The English Patient, today.

7 down, 29 to go.

The Bone People (Keri Hulme; 1985)

Midnight’s Children (Salman Rushdie; 1981)

G. (John Berger; 1972)

And I’m currently reading The English Patient (Michael Ondaatje; 1992)

I’ve compiled a list of all the winners from 1969 on my blog.
