We are in...

phew.
BashfulC worked his arse off doing most of move and clean up of our old house almost on his own. As much as I wanted to help, I have really been in severe pain with my pelvis and there was no chance of my doing anything. As it was, I went shopping on the move day with a friend, and managed to really hurt myself… all I was doing was carrying Oren about and loading him/his buggy in and out of a car a few times, but I could barely walk when I got home.
The house is beautiful, we have the essentials unpacked and in, and are waiting on some bookcases and other storage bits and pieces to be able to get the last boxes unpacked.
I already feel so much happier here. I have been out with Oren for walks the last two days, and generally been working around the house trying to get things sorted.
It has been a tricky week, as Oren’s routine was thrown way off with the move, and he has been a grumpy sod all week. Managed to break that last night/this morning and have got him almost back to his normal routine, which had an immediate impact on his demeanor today.

Bye bye house

Well tonight is the last night that we will sleep in Brimstone Cottage, our current home.
We are moving to a really lovely new home, but there are some good memories here, and I feel it right to honour Brimstone by just naming a few.
- Some really lovely evenings just spent in the house listening to music and drinking pink champagne in the early days, where BashfulC and I just got to know each other.
- BashfulC proposed to me in the front garden of Brimstone in August 2007.
- Both our children were conceived here
- We had a really great Engagement fancy dress party here in October 2007
- Brimstone was Oren’s first home, he came here for the first time on the 1st June 2008 and I have some lovely memories of his first days & weeks here. Oren also had his first Christmas here.
- We had a great conker weekend in 2008, with friends coming over to visit and a lovely BBQ in the garden – I felt really happy at at peace with things.
... so just a few nice thoughts to rest on as we move on to our new home. A lot of good things did happen here, and I hope our next home has a lot of good memories (and less bad ones!) too.

found moving that stressful, and I have moved A LOT. I must have moved about 10 times in the last 10 years. However trying to get stuff packed up with a 6 month bump, a really dodgy pelvis which is excruiciatingly painful at times, and a 9 month old boy crawling around under my feet and using me as a climbing frame is certainly making this move a lot more stressful!! I am not coping well with not being able to just get on and DO.
And just to top it all off, today I look in the mirror and I find my first ever grey hair!!!!! I am only 28 – but obviously the strain of a kid a bump and a move is going to turn me grey prematurely!
Oh roll on Monday when all the packing, moving and cleaning will be done!!

Our upright piano was delivered this morning!!
I do have a photo but have left required cable for uploading at the new house… so watch this space tomorrow!
It is amazing to have our own piano to play on, and it fits perfectly in our entrance hall just next to the window seat :o) I cant wait to find some music so I can start to relearn.

We took the first van load of stuff over to the house this afternoon – so strange!! I feel like its trespassing!! I think I wont believe that we live there until we have spent a night in the house!
Was great to start to see our belongings go in though, seeing them in different rooms has really brought home how much bigger the house is than what we have at the moment. I feel very spoilt as when I moved to where we are about to leave, I was coming from a flat and I thought this was the most wonderful house ever… but in comparision… Oh I CANNOT wait until next Saturday night when we can just enjoy our first night as a family in our new house :o)
Shall post photos of the progress of the move during the next week!!

I do not have much time on 43T at the moment – so apologies to all of those who I am not really cheering or commenting on… its nothing personal, just not enought hours in the day!
Oren has suddenly decided to sleep less during the day – which is fine but I could have done with it not being the week that I am packing up the house!!
We get the keys tomorrow and I am so excited about being able to start making the space ours.
Our current house is of course a nightmare, as there are boxes of stuff everywhere, and yet there still seems so much to do. Ive moved house in the past with a lot less forward planning and preparation, and in much more of a hurry, so I know that this should be a doddle! But it is feeling a lot more challenging this time around. I think in part this is because I know I wont be able to do much lifting/carrying and looking after Oren and providing refreshments will be as much as I can realistically do…
Oh I cant wait til its all there and I can just spend time unpacking things ard arranging them :o)
