I have just had an email accepting my resignation from my current job. Quite a landmark moment! Ive never resigned from a (proper!) job before! I worked there for over 6 years and while I enjoyed the first few years, the last few felt like a runaway train I was stuck on and couldnt get off. Now I feel like Ive disembarked and am trying to get my bearings… its very strange!

All od this of course ramps up the pressure to get the business up and off the ground over the next 3 months or so. Very exciting but also quite scary times. If we can make this work, it will have been the best decision EVER. I hope it works…

MAJOR STEP 2 weeks ago

I just resigned from my job.

We either now have to make our business work or else I am going to be begging for work in about 3 months time!

Great step forward though, I have had issue upon issue at my workplace and it will be such a relief to be able to say that I do not work there anymore :o)

From now on, when I get asked my job, it will be Mummy, Wife, Doula and Childbirth and Parentcraft Educator :o)

How exciting is that?

this is a big goal, and has several strings to it…

We have realised just how expensive childcare is, and realistically how little I will be bringing home each month after the childcare is paid for… which isnt very inspiring to give up seeing the children all week, doing a miserable job, in order to earn a couple of hundred quid a month. So this is in part one of the reasons we are looking at various options which might allow us to earn our own income.

We have option one – which is the most developed option at the moment, but also the most time consuming. I wont be going into details of option one just yet, as we want to get it off the ground first!

And option two – which is less exciting but potentially could get off the ground a lot faster – which is for me to ditch the old job and become a childminder. This way I could still be at home with my two children, earning money and not outlaying cash earnt to a nursery. The steps to achieving this seem pretty straightforward, and although there is a cash outlay it should pay for itself in the later savings…

So still a lot to do and a lot to plan. I have done all I can do towards option 2 for now – Ive submitted requested to both my nearest local authorities to attend a pre-registration session. So back to my planning for option one!
