was super easy. The crust and crumb were also really quite good and bakery-like. It even crackled a bit as it came out of the oven, which was very satisfying and pro-feeling.
However, my first loaf had a strange wang to it, which I am thinking had something to do with the broiler pan and the fact that it may have been just slightly overcooked. The second loaf is much better, but still just a wee bit off tasting. Maybe the CI vinegar and beer? I used kind of a heavy lager and should probably have gone with something lighter. I will try it again, though, because it was so low hassle that why not and the results were very promising.
I’m not quite ready to check it off, but definitely on my way.
