Not legally recognized in the US 4 years ago

I’m a gay man living in the United States and I want to get married some day. Currently there is not any legal recognition, and a great deal of opposition, in the US to my getting married. I’d like to see equal recognition for all US citizens but I don’t see it occurring any time in the near future. It’s somewhat frustrating.
