-adoption records will be open to both adopted adults, as well as birth parents searching for their children.
- If I do decide to look, it will be for nothing more than to determine perhaps what might heritage is, and well, I guess find out any relevant medical history, for the sake of the girls.
-I’ve not yet decided if I want to do this. – If mum ever found out, I believe it would hurt her profoundly.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always known that I was adopted. Finding my birth ‘people’ (parent is not the correct word) was never an issue, or a desire – my adoptive mother is my mother and that is all the knowledge I have required to be satisfied.
One thing I wouldn’t mind knowing, is what sort of cultural backround I have – might be worth knowing for my children. Sometimes I think that I’m afraid to know any type of medical history…think I’d almost prefer NOT to know what sort of terrible things I may be predisposed to. Psoriasis and arthritis are the obvious ones, but the big nasties like heart disease, cancer, etc…I’m too much of a chicken shit to find out.
Would be nice to know where it all started though…
