Well I really understand the point of recovery week now. I’m doing p90x classic. I got sick so I had to take a breather for a couple extra days at the end of my recovery week. I’m on phase 2 now and I’m happy with how my cardio strength and overall athleticism has increased. I was nearly able to keep up jump for jump with the folks on the DVD on Plyometrics today.
Though I have to contest this theory of “muscle confusion” that they’re claiming. The only difference between phase 1 and phase 2 is that you do Chest, Shoulders, Triceps instead of Chest and Back; and you do Back and Biceps instead of Shoulders and Arms. Everything else is exactly the same. Whatever, I just want to get through this and feel confident at the beach.

Okay, it’s been over a year since I cast out p90x in frustration, but my back is a helluva lot better since last time I tried, and come to find out it was actually my JOB causing me the back problems, not P90X. I’ve got a easy-going job now and I’ve decided to get back in there. I’m on week 3 now, though I think I might be sick…I did chest and back yesterday morning, and I felt really sick before I could finish..maybe the Powerbar was bad, I don’t know. I didn’t feel too great today either so I just rested up today and I’m picking up tomorrow.
I’ve already gotten results, my belly is a lot slimmer and I’m sporting a sweet 4-pack abs, hahaha.
Also, I’m becoming a tad narcissistic, but I guess that’s better than self loathing and sucking in a gut. I just use the excuse that I’m getting used to my new arms so I have to look at them a lot.
Three weeks in and I got a goddamn back injury. That was in October. It’s only gotten worse since then and the doctors are no help. I don’t foresee myself completing P90X ever after this. Thanks, I’m debilitated and getting fat and live with daily pain and it only cost me $120! Thanks P90X! You’re the best!
Man I for so long wanted to get p90x after seeing all the commercials, and I finally got it last month..I was all gung-ho about it, and the day after I did Yoga X the first time I got this horrid pain in my lower back. I did the usual, put heat on it, take motrin, etc. The pain kept with me. I kept at it though, and after Yoga X a second time, I had to quit. :( Something about the upward dog move that just kills my spine. Sigh hopefully my back will heal up soon and I can get back in there! In the mean time I’ve been just running and doing ARX so I can at least get a jump start on my abs.
