OK, so it’s not really Grate Music funding itself, but it is something that helps pay the hosting bills. A friend wants me to design a website, and since I’m hosting it on the Grate Music servers, his small monthly payment will help defray web expenses. Small steps, right?
Hopefully when we start publishing some Christmas music in November, that will attract a few more people to the site. I do think we do have good growth potential. I just think people are having a hard time finding us.
My ongoing project at http://gratemusic.com has been going remarkably well, and David and I have been working hard to get new music posted about weekly. However, what I want to do next is to bring more people to the site to the point where it essentially funds itself through donations. It’s somewhat like the concept of public radio, only with sheet music and MP3s.
