I realized that one of the ways I could be a better blogger was to host my own blog. That way, I have more control over what happens to it, and I don’t need to worry about Blogger mysteriously losing my posts. With the change, I’ve switched to a WordPress-based site at http://gratemedia.com/fluentinmumble
The move has been good so far. I really like the plugins that I can get for Wordpress – it’s much less constrictive than the Blogger platform.

rather than saying so much about my personal life and thoughts, I have added more reviews and links to interesting content. It’s not that I think my own life is boring – I just don’t want my blog to become too much personal ranting without reference to other good things.

for a better Blogger template. I just don’t have time to design it myself, but I want something that doesn’t look so much like everybody else’s Blogger blog. Suggestions?

I feel like I have a good variety of types of posts. I don’t do much with photos yet, but I think what I am doing is working for my blog and my audience. http://fluentinmumble.blogspot.com

I recently restarted my blog, fluent in mumble, at http://fluentinmumble.blogspot.com. I want to make it more relevant but not too wordy. I want to make it something people actually want to read, not necessarily because they are interested in the subjects, but because I write well on them.
