Yes. By this Christmas, I will have had my keyboard for an entire year. I think that for playing by myself with no outside books or help, I’m pretty decent.
Songs that I know:
-Minuet
-Fur Elise
-Glasgow Love Theme
-Lullaby (The “Sleepy Song”...you’d know it.)
-All sorts of Christmas songs
-Love Actually Theme
On top of that, I’ve “composed” some of my own stuff. I’m quite excited with it, too! Most of it is based off of stuff just in my head, but some of it is from other songs that I have heard.
[I LOVE playing my trombone parts from band on there, too!]
Happy playing,
Natasha
PS – The picture is of my dog after I opened my keyboard last Christmas! Haha. He was pooped from all of the excitement!

Minuet by Bach BLINDFOLDED.
How cool is that?
However, I need to learn how to read trebel clef. I play trombone, and all of my music is in base. GAH.
Poop. Oh well. Oooh! I’ve arranged my own little piece as well!

I got an LK-100 light up keyboard for Christmas!
YAY!
I’ve already learned to play a few of the songs without the special keys, and it’s soooo awesome!
Hehehehhehe!

Yeah. Light-up keys…songs to play along to. This looks really good. My friend, Jordan, let me try hers, and I loved it! So…yeah. I’ve been looking up prices, and the general price is around $120. Not bad…or, at least…not that I know of!

I have been discussing getting a keyboard for Christmas with my mom, and she seems to be pretty cool with it! Like she said, not only would it be good to take up another instrument, but it would also help with my trombone playing as well! I need to learn how to read in trebel clef at some point, so this is my chance! Hehe! I’m really excited!
I could be learning to play by Chrismas! YAY!

I found a keyboard that seems pretty cheap: a Yamaha YPG-625 88-Key Weighted Portable Grand Keyboard. I found it on Musician’s Friend
It’s priced at $749.99, and it seems to be a pretty good deal! You can even pay in payments of fifteen dollars per month! However, since I know nothing about keyboards, perhaps I should check things out first.
GOAL: To get a keyboard for Christmas.

My best friend and first love plays piano. He used to take lessons, but now he just does it for fun. At some point, he’ll probably quit altogether, and it really upsets me. Piano is such a beautiful instrument that can produce an array of different sounds in a number of octaves.
One day, I thought about perhaps taking up piano myself. It woudl be a big deal for me, but I think I could possibly teach myself. Neal even offered to give me some tips!
My other friend, Carlos, is currently taking piano lessons, so I might mooch off of him as well!
I would hate having to do recitals and stuff, so I would just like to sit down with a keyboard and mess around with tunes. That’s probably my ultimate goal. I just want to be able to sightread some cool stuff.
MAJOR ISSUE: I can only read bass clef.
